Canada’s women’s artistic gymnastics team has captured the silver medal at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, delivering another strong podium performance for Team Canada.
The Canadian squad finished the women’s team competition with a total score of 157.300, placing second behind Australia, which won gold with 158.400 points. England claimed the bronze medal.
Canada’s silver-medal team featured Ellie Black, Gabrielle Black, Lia-Monica Fontaine, Lia Redick and Alyssa Guerrier-Calixte. The athletes demonstrated consistency across vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise to secure Canada’s place on the podium.
Veteran Canadian gymnast Ellie Black delivered one of Canada’s strongest performances on the balance beam, while Fontaine produced an impressive showing on vault. Redick contributed strongly on floor exercise, with Guerrier-Calixte and Gabrielle Black also playing important roles in the team result.
The result continues Canada’s impressive Commonwealth Games record in women’s team artistic gymnastics. The silver is Canada’s 10th medal in the event across the last 11 editions, and improves on the bronze medal won by the Canadian women at Birmingham 2022.
The medal also adds to a successful gymnastics campaign for Canada in Glasgow. The Canadian men had already captured team gold, their first Commonwealth Games men’s team title in 20 years.
Canada’s gymnasts will continue competing in individual events as the Commonwealth Games progress.
