Loosen and detach, Ford recalls thousands of vehicles in Canada
Ford has announced a recall for more than 15,000 vehicles in Canada due to a safety risk related to seats moving in a crash, which could result in injuries.
According to the recall notice posted on Transport Canada last Tuesday, and later updated on Thursday, the pivot bolts in the height adjuster assembly for the front seats may not have been manufactured properly in some vehicles.
The recall affects Ford Bronco models and Ford Ranger models manufactured in years 2024 to 2026.
“As a result, the bolt(s) could loosen and detach,” the recall said. “If this happens, the seat(s) could move in a crash.”
Customers affected by the recall will be notified by the automaker via email and will be advised to bring their vehicles to a dealership for inspection, and if necessary, the height-adjust link(s) and pivot bolts will be replaced.
For more information about the recall, customers can visit Ford’s website.
Earlier this month, the same automaker issued a massive recall for nearly 144,000 Ford F-150 vehicles in Canada, citing an issue with the internal transmission that can lead to an “unexpected downshift” into a lower gear when the vehicle is moving.
Shortly before that, more than 31,000 vehicles of the same brand were recalled due to the windshield wiper arms having “insufficient attachment integrity.”
