Canadian families receiving the Canada Child Benefit (CCB) will receive their next payment on Monday, July 20, with a modest increase reflecting the program’s annual inflation adjustment. The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) recalculates benefit amounts each July based on the previous year’s tax return and inflation indexing.
For the July 2026 to June 2027 benefit year, the maximum annual payment has increased to $8,157 for each child under the age of six, up from $7,997 last year. Families with children aged 6 to 17 can now receive up to $6,883 per child annually, compared with $6,748 previously. The increase amounts to about $13.34 more per month for children under six and $11.25 more per month for children aged six to 17.
The updated payments are based on families’ 2025 adjusted family net income reported to the CRA. Families with lower incomes continue to qualify for the highest benefit amounts, while payments gradually decrease as household income rises. The income threshold before benefits begin to phase out has also increased slightly this year due to inflation.
The Canada Child Benefit is a tax-free monthly payment designed to help eligible families with the cost of raising children under 18.
