Costco Canada is urging customers to review recently purchased products after issuing a series of recalls involving several food and household items over potential safety and quality concerns. The affected products include Alfa Croissants, Panasonic FlashXpress toaster ovens, Cadbury Dairy Milk Oreo chocolate bars, and Aston Martin Formula One 36V ride-on go-karts, among others.
The recalls have been issued for different reasons depending on the product. Certain Alfa Croissants are being recalled due to the possible presence of mould, while Panasonic FlashXpress toaster ovens (Model NB-G205S) have been recalled because inadequate insulation around the power cord could pose an electric shock or fire hazard. Health Canada advises consumers to stop using the affected toaster ovens immediately and return them for a refund.
In addition, some Cadbury Dairy Milk Oreo chocolate bars have been recalled due to the possible presence of undeclared pistachio, posing a serious health risk to individuals with nut allergies. Costco has also recalled certain children’s ride-on go-karts over safety concerns and is advising customers to stop using the products until further instructions are provided.
Customers are encouraged to check the recall notices, compare product model numbers, lot codes, and purchase dates, and determine whether any items in their homes are affected. Depending on the product, consumers may be eligible for a full refund, replacement, or free repair.
Costco Canada said product safety remains a top priority and that it is working closely with manufacturers and regulatory agencies, including Health Canada, to ensure affected products are removed from the marketplace.
