The Council of India Societies of Edmonton (CISE) is inviting residents and visitors to experience the vibrant culture and traditions of India during the Edmonton Heritage Festival 2026, taking place from August 1 to 3 at William Hawrelak Park in Edmonton. Recognized as the world’s largest three-day celebration of multiculturalism, the festival brings together communities from around the world to celebrate diversity through food, music, dance, arts, and cultural exchange.
Visitors are encouraged to explore the Indian Pavilion (#54, Site #2), where CISE will showcase India’s rich heritage through authentic Indian cuisine, colourful cultural performances, traditional folk dances, live music, arts and crafts, and interactive cultural exhibits. The pavilion offers an opportunity for people of all ages to experience the diversity of India’s languages, customs, festivals, and artistic traditions in one place.
This year’s festival is especially significant as CISE celebrates its 50th Golden Jubilee (1976–2026), marking five decades of promoting Indian culture, community engagement, and multicultural harmony in Edmonton. Organizers say the Indian Pavilion will feature performances by talented local artists and cultural groups representing various regions of India, reflecting the country’s rich cultural diversity.
The Edmonton Heritage Festival features more than 70 cultural pavilions, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. Guests can enjoy authentic international cuisine, live entertainment, cultural displays, educational exhibits, and family-friendly activities while learning about traditions from around the world. Admission to the festival is free, making it one of Edmonton’s most popular summer events.
